Accredited Academics
At A+ Children’s Academy, students learn and grow through a hands-on, project-based curriculum designed to nurture curiosity and confidence. Our approach blends academic rigor with creative exploration, giving students meaningful opportunities to engage with their learning both inside and outside the classroom. With small group instruction and personalized support, we help each child build a strong foundation for future success. Outdoor learning is a signature feature of our program, with a unique outdoor space used for physical education, recess, and small-group instruction.

English Language Arts
Our English Language Arts program helps students become strong readers, writers, and communicators. In the early grades, children build foundational literacy through phonics, vocabulary, and grammar. As they progress, they explore a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts and practice writing in different forms. Across all grade levels, students learn to express themselves clearly and think critically about what they read.
Math
Our Math curriculum emphasizes both foundational skills and real-world problem solving. Students use hands-on tools and visual strategies to understand concepts and build fluency. With regular practice and meaningful challenges, they gain the confidence to tackle increasingly complex math problems and apply what they learn in new ways.
Science
Science instruction is rooted in exploration and discovery. Students investigate life, Earth, and physical sciences through experiments and interactive lessons that support observation, analysis, and curiosity. Project-based learning connects science to real-world themes, helping students understand how scientific thinking shapes our world.
Physical Education
Physical education is an essential part of each day at A+ Children’s Academy. Students stay active and build coordination through games and skill-building activities. PE lessons also teach teamwork and sportsmanship, while helping students develop lifelong habits of movement and wellness.
ACCEL Instructional Model (AIM)
Our school is built on a strong foundation of high expectations for academic achievement for all students and is accredited by Cognia™ for meeting the highest standards of education in ongoing third-party review. We implement the ACCEL Instructional Model (AIM) which focuses on four key components to achieve strong academic results:
Individualized Instruction
Students participate in a variety of learning activities each day that individualize instruction for each subject area. Students receive whole class instruction, small group instruction, and individual instruction with teachers, technology and other curricular tools. Each classroom has a Smartboard, classroom iPads, and 1:1 Chromebook access for students.
Properly Certified & Licensed Teachers
Our teachers meet the requirements set forth by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA): Bachelor’s degree, grade-level teaching license/certificate & ability to demonstrate subject area expertise. Our teachers are supported by trainers and participate in continuous, research-based professional development. Our teachers are accountable for student learning and rewarded for high quality performance.
More Time on Task
Our students receive double the instruction in ELA and Math to provide a strong foundation for all learning. Beginning with full-day Kindergarten, our school also follows a longer school day and school year than many other schools. In fact, we provide over 10% more instructional hours per school year than the Ohio Department of Education requires.
Data-Driven Instruction
Student knowledge of academic standards is assessed formally and informally in short cycles by each teacher. Our teachers adjust class-level and individual instruction based on student performance in these frequent intervals.
Social Studies
Students learn about their communities and the wider world through engaging lessons in geography, civics, economics, and history. They explore cultures, examine historical events, and consider how people and places have influenced the present. Our Social Studies program helps students make connections, ask questions, and see their role as informed citizens.
