About our school

A+ Children’s Academy is a public charter school serving students in kindergarten (early entry) through sixth grade in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio grades every school on a Performance Index and a star rating system. A+ Children’s Academy earned a 3-star rating for Gap Closing and a 3-star rating for Progress in the 2024–25 school year, meaning students at this school are closing gaps and gaining ground year over year.

A+ Children’s Academy is built around high academics. That means every subject, every day, runs at a level designed to push students forward. It’s not a school that coasts on participation or effort scores. It’s a school that measures what students actually know and adjusts how they’re taught to close the gap. High academics means a teacher sees where your child is and teaches to that level, not to the middle of the room. High academics aren’t enrichment extras. They’re the method.

Community School

A+ Children’s Academy is a public, community school. We are our own school district sponsored by Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability. We are managed by ACCEL Schools, a high-performing network of over 50 charter schools located throughout the United States. Community Schools (Charter Schools) offer families an alternative to the local public school. Founded in 2014, ACCEL Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization (CMO) serving students across the United States in brick-and-mortar, virtual, and hybrid school settings. We focus on improving academic outcomes of students regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic factors. The leadership team at ACCEL Schools has a combined 1000+ years of experience as global school management operators with expertise in curriculum research and design, assessment, student support services, and education consulting.
